Pedro Buentello II of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Thursday night, July 23, 2020 at the age of 85. After several months of declining health, Pedro passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Ofilia and daughter Maricela by his side.
Pedro was born in Hebbronville, Texas on October 14, 1934. He was the youngest of a family of 8, which was made up of 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Pedro graduated from Hebbronville High School and went on to fall in love and marry his wife of 64 years, Ofilia Palacios Buentello, on September 1, 1956.
Pedro started as a truck driver and was eventually promoted to a Warehouse Manager for Braslaus Furniture Store where he worked for 47 years before retiring in 2001 at 67 years old. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He had a passion for football, and the Dallas Cowboys, rarely ever missing a game. He also enjoyed watching rodeos and western movies.
Pedro was a kind and loving husband and father who loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Buentello and Victoria Garcia Buentello; sisters, Carlota Gonzalez, Eloisa Flores, Olivia Flores, and Maria Cremar; and son-in-law, Mike Sears.
He was survived by his beloved wife, Ofilia Palacios Buentello; son, Pedro (Linda) Buentello III; daughters, Victoria Sears and Maricela (Hector) Zamora; grandchildren, Jason Buentello, Brittany N. Buentello, Eric Gomez, Christopher Sears, Michael Sears, Cecelia Zamora, Alycia Zamora; great-grandchildren, Bella Rose Buentello, John Perez, and Mark Perez; sisters, Osbelia Molina and Catarina Gonzalez; and brother, Samuel Buentello.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. For those who are unable to attend, funeral services will also be live-streamed through the Memory Gardens Facebook page at 12:30 pm the same day.
