It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Refugia “Cookie” Pizana. She was called home on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on January 15, 1928, in Arlington, Texas, to parents Juan Andrade and Concepcion Alvarez Andrade.
Cookie was always very active in her church. She was a dedicated advocate for Segunda Iglesia Bautista. She attended many missionary trips to Mexico, lead countless bible services, spread the word of God, and helped the less fortunate whenever she could. Cookie was always friendly to everyone she met, and she worked very hard throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered for having a great sense of humor and for caring for all of those around her.
Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Concepcion Andrade; and her siblings, Delores Cortez, Maria Andrade, Amarita Gutierrez, Trino Andrade, Conception Andrade, and Mildred Nevarez.
Cookie leaves her memories to her sister, Catalina Andrade (Alfredo Gonzalez); brother, Joe Andrade; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cookie’s family and friends will always miss her and carry her lessons of love and life in their hearts.
Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 PM that same day. Services will conclude in the chapel at Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
