Born in Brantford Ontario, Georgie moved out to Vancouver Island in the 70’s where she called many special places around the Comox Valley her home. You could find her every year volunteering at Musicfest where her passion for music thrived and grooved. Never desiring to get her driver's license she could also be recognized as the beautiful tiny lady with the long blonde hair walking all over town. Her love of life lives on in her Grandchildren Sarah (Steve) Evelyn (Jamen) and Alex (Casey), her daughter Cheryl and great grandchildren Sabastian, Syran, Ava and Georgia. Memories will also be cherished by many extended family and friends who loved her. Georgie was reunited in Heaven by many family members previously passed, including her sisters Maryanne and Bonnie. Georgie passed away peacefully at home with loved ones holding her hand and Simon & Garfunkel playing in the background as her soul walked home to Jesus.
Family was everything to Georgie. She spent most of her days with her granddaughters Sarah and Evelyn where laughter was always abundant. She was always playing with her great grandchildren, which brought so much light and happiness to her heart. Georgena was a special lady and touched the hearts of many people. She had a strength that was admirable and her presence emanated joy. Her compassionate loving nature, warm smile and sense of humour made for a beautiful life.
Thank you to Dr. Hunter for your amazing care and compassion over the past year and helping us bring her home to be with family. Her Nurses Candie, Savanna and Marie for all of the love and time spent with her; and all the wonderful staff involved in her care at Glacier View Lodge.
Georgie did not want a service so if you knew her, celebrate her. Sing a song, send her a prayer, cheers a cup of tea, have a smoke, or a good laugh at a memory. If desired a donation to YANA in her name would be greatly welcomed.
Words cannot express how so very special and loved you are Gram. We hold you close in our hearts forever and always. Rest in paradise Tiny Lady, a piece of our hearts went with you when you passed.
As Gram would say, "May love be your life".
