

Mary Jo Hannah, 93, of St. Albans, peacefully passed away on February 29, 2016 at Regency Center in Scott Depot. She was born on March 19, 1922 in Harlan, KY, the oldest child of Tony and Anna Lumber. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Si, and her brothers and sisters. Mary Jo graduated from Holzer Hospital School of Nursing. She previously worked in Baltimore and Annapolis, MD and Pittsburgh, PA before moving to West Virginia to work at the then new Thomas Memorial Hospital. Mary Jo spent the majority of her career in surgery and recovery room, from where she retired as head nurse. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Bobbi, of St. Albans, Jim (Donna), of Valparaiso, IN, Rose Mary Kutz (Mike) of St. Albans, David (Terrie), of Teays Valley. She also leaves five grandchildren, the lights of her life, Kristen, of NYC, Kimberly (Joe), of Valparaiso, IN, Justin (Megan), of Winfield, Laura (Will) of Huntington, Joey, of St. Albans, and one great-grandchild, Parker, of Winfield, who always brought a smile to her face. She will be sadly missed by all. Celebration of Mary Jo’s life will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding. Graveside Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Cunningham Memorial Park with Pastor Tom Quickel officiating. Gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5 until time of service and from 11:30 until noon on Thursday. The family would like to thank Regency Place of Scott Depot and Kanawha Hospice for their loving care of our mother. You are angels on earth.
