Richard Lloyd Bashore

Dick was born May 8, 1926 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Scott and Susan (nee Brown) Bashore. Also preceding him in death are his sons, Scott and Larry Bashore; and his brother, William Bashore.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Medrith (nee Herriman) Bashore; daughters, Kathy (Forest) Rawlins and Denise (Bob) Elder; grandchildren, Geneva (Josh) Tyler, Rae Lynn (Jon) Farra, Paul (Katelyn) Rawlins, Becky (Jason) Lehman and Scott (Krysta) Elder; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Watson.

Dick worked hard all his life, working for over 40 years in the oil refinery industry and other various side jobs. He and his wife are faithful and longtime of members of Bethel Church of Crown Point. Dick loved the Lord and his family. He enjoyed camping and fishing and making people laugh, especially children.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 9:30 am until the time of his funeral at 11:30 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307) with Pastor Gary Butler officiating. Private burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
