February 12, 1942June 1, 2017

Frances L. Swire, 75, of Crystal Lake passed away June 1, 2017. She was born February 12, 1942 in Chicago to Anthony and Eleanore (Deegan) Strama. Fran enjoyed spending time at the beach and her frequent trips to the library and Jewel. Her loves were Tom Selleck, John Wayne, and Carlo Rossi. If you knew Fran, you knew not to call during The Price is Right, it was by far her favorite. She also liked Ma and Pa Kettle and made sure to share that love with her family. To Fran, her family was the most important thing, especially her grandchildren. She loved cooking and all who knew her will miss her generosity of giving, especially when it came to her delicious lasagna. If she wasn’t cooking, she enjoyed Home Run Inn Pizza. She also had a beautiful smile and laugh that will be missed by all. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Elizabeth, Charles Thomas, Anthony Andrew, Lawrence Martin, Kristen Theresa Deegan; her grandchildren, Mia Kathleen, Quentin Charles, Enaiya Justice; the family dog, Mindy; her siblings, Sharon, Patricia, Michael, Thomas, Andrew, Christine, Raymond, Theresa, and Peggy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence; and her parents. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, June 6 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, June 7, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The family invites you to bring a copy of your favorite photo to pin to a memory board for them to cherish. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Little Christopher’s Resale Shoppe, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For information call the funeral home at 815-459-1760. Online condolences may be made at www.querhammerandflagg.com.

Dear Margaret and Extended Family,

Deepest sympathy from the Howard Deegan Family, (Elanores brother) on the loss of your wonderful Francis. Her smile was amazing. It reflected her great heart.

Francis was my happiest cousin and we always use to say 'we are gonna have to get together more often, not just weddings and funerals'. Of course we didn't realize that fantasy. Time goes so swiftly.

I wish I would have visited more, taken Francis to lunch and had coffee. I loved to visit cousins when my Dad used to take us to visit in Crystal Lake and Stone Park. My Dad died when I was 12 so the cousin visit stopped. But Francis came to my sister Jeannes wedding and Joanies wedding. She came to my Dad;s funeral along with Grampa Deegan and others i am sure. The point is, she was FAMILY and wanted to share with the larger family.

My sisters loved her dearly as well. Please just know from the bottom of my heart that I knew what a beautiful person she was. How special her great attitude was and how thankful I am that she crossed my path. May she rest in peace and may God's grace comfort you at your time of sadness and sorrow. Love, Cousin Dennis

Dear Aunt Fran, My heart aches the loss of you. I will always remember being a kid taking the train to CL. Spending beautiful summer days at the little beach then on the walk home stopping at the little store. So many good times, so many great lasagnas but you never could get me to eat those dog gone brussel sprouts. God bless you! km xo
