Michael Franklin Alexander Sr.

Michael Franklin Alexander, Sr., of Culpeper, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA, at the age of 62. Michael was born in Harrisonburg, VA, to Raymond B. Alexander, Sr., and Alice Irene Smith. A dear husband, father, and grandfather, Michael was a life-long, creative entrepreneur. Michael, however, would proudly tell you first that he was a U.S. Marine. He spent many years running his own paint contracting and courier businesses. Additionally, he was a well-respected car salesman for many years. Michael is survived by his wife, Carolyn Eveler Alexander; daughter, Sarah Alexander Sheehan; son, Michael Franklin Alexander, Jr.; son-in-law, Daniel Patrick Sheehan; grandsons, Alexander Patrick Sheehan and Thomas Parker Sheehan—all of Culpeper, VA. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond B. Alexander, Jr., and his wife, Donna M. Alexander, of Annapolis, MD; his brother, Paul D. Alexander, of McLean, VA; his niece, Courtney Alexander, of Annapolis, MD; and his beloved cats, Harry and Marmalade. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, VA, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior to service time. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the Sheehan home for refreshments. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Charlottesville/Albemarle SPCA, P.O.
