

Ann Patton Russell Smith of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully January 18, 2019, due to heart failure. She was born August 7, 1930 in Dallas, TX, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1948, and attended SMU. She married Harvey Nual "Rusty" Russell, Jr. in 1951.
She was an award-winning figure skater, being the first woman in Texas awarded a gold medal from the US Figure Skating Assoc. Her family would like to thank Juliette Fowler Communities, and Baylor Medical Center Dallas for their love and care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Roy Patton and Minnie Lee Gorham Patton; sister, Dorothy Mogel; granddaughter, Rose-Shanti Eris Russell; and husband, "Rusty" Russell. She married Richard C. Smith of Dallas, August 22, 1998. She is survived by her husband, Richard C. Smith; son, Chris Russell and wife, Debbie Russell of Richardson; grandsons, Brian Pickle, Kyle Russell, Rusty Russell; son, Mike Russell of Dallas and grandson, Sam Russell and niece, Dorothy Mogle Osterberg of Tyler. She was loved by and shared her love with step-daughters, Shelbie S. McKenzie of Rockwall, Sondra S. McClendon of Tulsa, and their husbands and sons. In addition to her family, her loves were horses, her pet Pepper, and the many friends that she made and enjoyed during her lifetime.
