Dianne Flusche Dozier was born November 17, 1939 to Henry and Sophie Coerver Flusche in Dallas. She graduated high school from Our Lady of Good Council in 1957 and attended the University of Dallas. While at UD, she met David Dozier Jr; they married and together raised four children throughout their 60-year marriage. Dianne passed away on July 2, 2020, just 10 days after her husband.
Dianne was a woman of grace, beauty and courage. She was a devout Catholic and a doting mother and grandmother who valued tradition and hosting family celebrations. Holidays at Dee’s were always special; she still assembled Easter baskets and Christmas stockings for all, including her adult children. Dianne was a loyal friend who loved seeing her Jolly Thursday ladies weekly. She enjoyed traveling and took memorable trips with her husband, daughters and friends.
She was a guiding hand as her husband David started his businesses and an avid supporter of his running life – attending every one of his more than 120 marathons and greeting his running group each Saturday with homemade scones in the winter and cold watermelon slices in the summer.
Dianne committed full time to raising her children, then transitioned to a professional career. She was an active part of DBG&H advertising for many years. She then found a calling at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. She had many roles throughout her 20-year career at the church, including serving families in the planning of important life events, from baptisms and weddings to funerals. She had just retired in November of 2019 and left an indelible mark on the parish.
As a student at St. Thomas, she was often described as the girl most like Mary and was voted May Queen by her female classmates. While her children attended St. Thomas, she volunteered in many capacities including homeroom mother, Girl Scout Leader and on many school carnivals and fundraising committees. She was also an active Bishop Lynch High School parent volunteer and served on the Woodrow Wilson High School Board of Directors. She attended all of her children and grandchildren’s, games, recitals and other activities. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and grand pets.
Dianne is survived by her children and spouses, Debbie and Steve Hain, Becky and Shawn McCall, Mike and Kristine Dozier and Connie and Greg Brevik, and her grandchildren, Cole and Ben McCall, Charlotte and Matt Hain and Anna and Ella Dozier. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike and Grace Flusche, David and Judi Flusche, Suzanne and Kenny Bezner, and Kathy and Spencer Shytles. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings, Sophie Flusche and Bob Flusche.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the White Rock Lake Conservancy, Bishop Lynch High School, or St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the funeral will be private.
Her legacy of love and servitude will carry on.
