Mrs. Doris "Honey" Ann Austin

Ms. Doris Runnels Austin was born on November 18, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the first of three children born to the late Lorene Runnels and James Gates. She received her education at Crozier Technical High School in Dallas, Texas, and she graduated in 1971. Doris accepted Christ at an early age and united with Household of Faith Christian Fellowship in 1991. She was currently the Director of the Children's Ministry. Doris Began her career with the United States Postal Service in 1970, where she later retired in 2011.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, Honey was called home to rest with her eternal family. Her mother, Lorene Runnels, father, James Gates, and her sister, Sandra Kay Runnels, all welcomed Honey to her eternal home in Glory.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories four children, Kobi DeGrate (Bruce), Kaneshia Willis, Kimberly Austin, and Kailen Austin (Dakara), all of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren that she adored, Jerika, Jerimiah, Arius, Jordan, Javian, Ja'Kobi, Jordyn, Ja'Kaih, and Bruce, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Addyson Tate; one brother, Milton Runnels (Vivian) of Dallas, Texas; three nieces, Nakia, Kwanisha and Kiandria; two nephews, Kenmothy and Christopher; one aunt, Corene Thomas; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and close friends who will also feel her loss.
