Doris Ellis Majors was born July 29, 1936, to the parentage of Carl Stevenson and Susie White Stevenson in Dallas, Texas. She was raised in Lancaster, Texas. Doris was educated at Rocky Crest Elementary School in Lancaster and Lincoln High School in Dallas.
In 1953, Doris was united in holy matrimony to Jessie Majors. She raised seven children. Six were born to that union, plus one special niece.
She loved being a mother, cooking, and attending Church. Doris accepted Christ at an early age. After getting saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at a yard service, she joined El Bethel Baptist Church. She was later a member of Evangelist Deliverance Tabernacle where she worked with the Youth, Transportation, Witnessing Group and Sunday School. Later, she joined Evangel Temple where she faithfully worked with various ministries, and leader of the Willing Workers (Pastoral Aide Committee) until departing this life. Evangel Temple blessed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She attended and was an Honorary "Mother of the Church" at Living Life Traditional Holiness Church.
As Testimony Service Leader, she sang songs such as: Made a Vow to the Lord, I'm A Soldier, When I Rise and Saints I Rose One Morning.
On Monday, December 10, 2018, Mother Doris Ellis Majors entered into her eternal home of Glory. She was welcomed by both of her parents, two sisters, four brothers, one special cousin, and one son, Jerry Lewis Majors (Lovie).
Mother Majors leaves to forever cherish her Life and her Legacy, her husband of 65 years Jessie; two sons, Jesse Earl Majors (Marilyn), Joe Majors (Mary); three daughters, Debbie Sams (Rondle), Dobbie Blackburn, Doris Moore (Willie) and niece, Gwendolyn Paschall; nineteen grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; two brother in laws, Billy Majors and John L. Majors (Virginia); one sister in law, Cynthia Coleman (Ralph); best friend, Beatrice Stevenson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
