Eppy, was born September 7, 1957, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He attended Memorial High School in San Antonio, Texas. As a teen he spent his summers in the Valley learning construction from his padrino, Jose Guadalupe Ochoa (d. 2021). In the 70s he worked at B&B Shoes before starting at SAS in 1976 and worked there until 1989. Before leaving San Antonio, he created custom leather work and had a custom cabinetry business. After to moving to Dallas he started a career with the City of Dallas (1993) in the Wastewater collections department, where he became “Cowboy.” After 8 years with the city, he decided to branch out and found Cowboy Sewer Contracting, LLC in 2001. Pifas was a wonderful family man and amazing father. He married Lisa in 1997 and created the blended family that exists today. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous, family oriented, baseball obsessed, life of the party with a trademark mustache.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio Quintanilla and Margarita Ochoa Quintanilla of Reynosa, Mexico; his brothers: Alfonso Quintanilla of Edinburg, TX; Jose Angel (Irma) Quintanilla; Carlos Alberto Quintanilla, both of Reynosa, Mexico.; Sergio Javier Quintanilla; and Juan Alberto Quintanilla, brother-in-law: Guillermo Cortes, all of San Antonio, TX.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Quintanilla, of Garland; his children, Adriana (Robert) Molina, of San Antonio, TX; Terry Beth (Bobby) VanByssum, of Violina, AR; Amy Quintanilla of Garland; Daniel Quintanilla of Garland and 8 grandchildren, Autumn, Seth, Cameron, Benjamin, Colton, Dylan, Everlea, Ellie; his siblings: Adela Quintanilla Garza of Baytown, TX; Alma Leticia Cortes; Maria Del Carmen (Everado) Flores; Margarita (Ruben) Castro; Oscar Horacio (Maria Elena) Quintanilla; Theresa de Jesus (Jesus) Gutierrez; Martha Patricia Quintanilla; Sandra Luz Lucio; and Nancy (Scott) Phillips, all of San Antonio, TX ; sisters-in-law: Lucila Quintanilla, Reynosa, Mexico and Imelda Quintanilla, San Antonio, TX.
