Mrs. Frances Wainwright

March 2, 1951May 1, 2020

Our Beloved Evangelist Frances (Washington) Wainwright passed away May, 1, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Her devotion to her family, and her firm belief in God supported her in her illness and ultimately gave her eternal peace.

She was born to parents Leroy Washington and Viola Washington, March 2, 1951 in Elysian Field, Texas. Frances graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Chapman University.

She married Victor Wallace Wainwright in1971, and they lived together in Ontario, California for nineteen years before relocating to Glenn Heights, Texas in December 2003.

She leaves to cherish her life, legacy and memory, her loving and devoted husband, Victor Wainwright, her two children: son, Mark Antonio Wainwright, of Seagoville, Texas, daughter, Katina Antoinette Childs, and son-n-law, Brian W. Childs of Altadena, California. Sisters: Bertha Robinson, of Dallas, Texas, Erma Sims of Houston, Texas, and brother, James Washington, Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, who she deeply loved and was extremely proud of: Ethan W. Childs, Olivia Elizabeth Childs, Naomi Wainwright, and Ezekiel Wainwright. Also, to be mentioned are the many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister/brother-n-laws and special friends who are too numerous to list individually.

She was preceded in death by Mother, Viola Washington, Father, Leroy Washington, Sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Leonard, Mrs. Lorene Russell, Mrs. Lillie Mae Rodney, Mrs. Dorothy Ware and Mrs. Mary Byrd of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mrs. Maude Brown of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Mattie Carter and Bettie Carter of Dallas, Texas; Brother, Robert Washington of Shreveport, Louisiana.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms, too many people to name individually, but including: The Washington Family, The Wainwright Family, Refreshing Springs C.O.G.I.C., family and friends – either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness through total “strangers”.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”Revelation 21:4

It was truly a blessing to know Frances, who I affectionately called "Mamacita". We worked together for many years at The Aerospace Corporation. She was my friend, mentor and more. She always had a kind word, encouraging word and a spiritual word to share. I truly enjoyed attending her lunchtime bible study. She was truly a woman of God. I was deeply sadden when I learned of her passing. But I know...to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. So, my dear Mamacita, rest in the arms of God...
Love always...

I was honored and blessed to have known Frances for over 50 years and yet that is not enough! It breaks my heart to let her go but I know she is home with our Lord and Savior whom she loved with all her heart and soul. Remembering her wonderful smile, quick wit, gentle spirit and love for people will forever remain in my heart.
May God's tender grace and sufficient mercy bring you comfort and cause you to reflect on His goodness as you go forward. Praying that His love will bind you ever closer to Him.

When Frances was working at The
Aerospace Corporation, she started a lunch time Bible study class. I enjoyed attending the class in our building. After she left the Company, the class continued for awhile, then eventually was discontinued. It didn't surprise me
that she became an Evangelist. She will be greatly missed.

Aunt Frances,

I have loved and cherished all the years I would write to you growing up, always wanted to send you the best of every school prom or graduation photo, spent quality time with you, was excited when you attended so many of my childhood milestone events, flew from Texas to watch me graduate from college, and got to know you as my aunt and godmother. I'm going to miss you so much, and I only wish I could have spent more time with you as an adult. You will always be in my heart and I love you.

Until we meet again,

Your niece
