Helen B Smith

Helen Brintlinger Smith passed away on April 9, 2012 in Richardson, Texas after a short battle with cancer. She was born on April 5, 1917 in Decatur, Illinois to Elmer and Jessie Brintlinger. Helen received her Bachelors in Education from Arizona State University and moved to Dallas in 1947 with her husband, Marvin. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas. Playing bridge and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids at their sporting events was a favorite hobby of hers. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. She was preceded in death by her husband; Marvin D. Smith, brother; Harold Brintlinger and her parents. Left to cherish her memory and life are her daughter Deborah Bourland and husband Dan and her son David Smith and wife Barbara. Grandchildren: Chad Bourland and wife Heather, Jared Bourland, Colleen Sosbee and husband Steve, Lauren Smith, and nephew, Dan Brintlinger. Great Grandchildren: Keegan, Avery, Quinn and Owen Bourland, and Hayden and Evan Sosbee. Visitation for Helen will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral home. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Richardson in the chapel with Rev. Jimmie Mobley officiating. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Make a Wish Foundation.
