Mr. Kevin Lee Wade was born July 26, 1965 to the late Mr. Floyd Henry Wade and Mrs. Clara Richardson Wade in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He attended John H. Morehead High School in Eden, North Carolina. He was the youngest son of two children. Mr. Wade was also known as "Wade” to many who knew and loved him. He met no strangers for he could hold a friendly conversation with anyone who crossed his path. Those who knew him felt his love for the Lord, as he would always try to encourage them in their walk with the Lord and/or to follow Christ. He served in the United States Marines Corp; after which he worked briefly as Police Officer in Tarboro, North Carolina. Later in his career, he worked as a Divisional Director of Operations for many years. Mr. Wade married Darla Bridgers on May 6, 1989 who later became his soulmate for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Darla B. Wade of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Aaron Lucas, Chesapeake, Virginia; two daughters, Kenisha Durr (Alex), and Lamitra D. Wade, both of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Wade (Vanessa) of Danville, Virginia; a maternal grandmother, Ethel Richardson of Eden, NC; three grandchildren (Kayla Lucas, Khyra Lucas, Nicholai Durr); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8

On behalf of the Baker family please know that we send our sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband. I met Kevin while we both were living in Tarboro, NC. He’s married to my high school classmate. He was very friendly and met no stranger. My heart is with his wife and family.

Oh Darla, I’m so sorry to hear this news. I just looked through old photos and found this one of Kevin from I think 1989, not too long after he started in Tarboro.
