Margaret was born in Dallas, Texas to the late Cornelius “Conn” Murrah and Dorothy Smithson on July 9, 1945. She went to Thomas Jefferson High School where she met the love of her life, Jimmy Ogles. They were married on June 27, 1964 in Dallas. She started her career at Placid Oil Company where she made many lifelong friends.
Margaret retired early and devoted the last 25 years of her life to helping raise her three grandchildren. She picked them up from school everyday, attended all of their school and sporting events, and could always be found working on puzzles, reading books and playing games with them when they were young. As they got older, she became their confidant, best friend, and biggest supporter.
Margaret was a devout Roman Catholic, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who lived her life for the Lord and her family. Margaret will be greatly missed by everyone blessed to have known her and will be remembered for so many qualities, especially her strength to overcome challenges such as breast and lung cancer, her giving heart, and her will to live with a commitment to her family. She never knew a stranger; every person in the world, to her, was just a friend she hadn’t met yet.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Ogles, her parents, her siblings David Murrah, Eileen Murrah, Sandra Oser, and her little sister and best friend, Kathleen Kinser.
She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Bartoszek, her three grandchildren, Jake, Trent, and Emma Bartoszek, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in the North Mausoleum Chapel at 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas, Texas. Her celebration of life will start with a rosary said at 1:30, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00, and concluding with graveside services at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
