OBITUARY

Patricia Ann Grisak

December 14, 1923January 12, 2014

Patricia Ann Critchlow Grisak passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the age of 90. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 14, 1923. Pat graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. That is also where she met her life-long partner and husband, Fred Richard Grisak, who passed away a few years ago. She became a stay-at-home mom until her three children were older, then went back to TWU to earn a Master’s degree in education. Pat was a long time teacher at Wallace Elementary. She is survived by her daughter Patsi Grisak Tindel and son Tom Grisak and their families, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat was an artist and prolific gifted writer, concentrating on recording stories of the people she knew or met. In going through her journals, this passage was found that sums her up very well. “Home has always been at the heart of my life. Every day has proven to be a learning experience or a moment of wonder. My advice to anyone who reads this is to savor each day and enjoy your own company. Get a dog (like my beloved Muffy) and walk off your troubles. And above all, be grateful for what you have.” A memorial service will be held for her at Highland Springs, 8020 Frankford Road, Dallas, Texas on Wednesday January 22 at 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Grisak was my 4th grade teacher during the year my parents divorced. She gave me an Indian arrow head that year and a lot of support. We have kept in touch ever since and my family and I would visit with her and Fritz when visiting Dallas from Minnesota. She had such love for people and I loved her. So extremely sorry for the loss of this beautiful Texas lady.

We were so fortunate that our daughter, Kerri Erin Creer was able to have Pat Grisak as a teacher at Wallace. She was a loving gifted teacher who made learning a wonderful experience. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Pat and her husband were our neighbors for many years. We met her when she would walk her dog past our home and stop to chat. Such a sweet and classy lady! We are so sorry to know she past away. We will keep her entire family in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry for the loss of a great woman. Mrs. Grisak was my first grade teacher and played a very important role in my life. I still have the book she gave me which was The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams that cherish to this day. Keep on teaching in heaven. God bless

I did not know this wonderful lady. I only knew of her through my niece, Lorna Bradford. I do know that Lorna loved her and told me of the special times she spent with Mrs. Grisak. May she rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to those that loved her.
