parentage of X.L. and Nora Mae Gant, in DeSoto Parrish, Louisiana. She met her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on the glorious morning at 7:31 AM on January 11, 2021. Known to many as “Pearl” and “Granny” to her grandchildren, she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to many. She assumed the matron role of her family, after the death of her mother ensuring her siblings were taken care of. She was thankful for her family and their bond and relationship. On May 18, 1970 she married the love of her life, Robert C. Weaver, while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps. For many years she lived in Nacogdoches, Texas with her husband and children. She was a talented and gifted seamstress with an eye for fashion. Her love of fashion grew during her employment at Regans Department Store in Nacogdoches, Texas where she was recognized as their top sales lady in women's fashion. In 1978, she moved to Los Angeles, California with her family, but later returned to Texas to continue raising her family. She continued to create and design clothing for her family and friends, often constructing garments that mirrored clothing seen in catalogs and department stores. She designed stylish school clothes for her daughters, beautiful robes for choirs and pastors, and an array of prom and wedding dresses for many. In 1993, she and her husband relocated to Dallas, Texas where she continued her work as a seamstress to a growing clientele,
even opening her own seamstress shop in Dallas. Pearl knew and loved the Lord. She spent her entire life as a mother and grandmother teaching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren about the greatness of Jesus and the power of prayer and faith. She welcomed every opportunity to study scriptures and pray for others. She also loved to shop, travel, and spend time with her beloved family....never missing a fun filled family get-together. She was always there to lend a helping hand, a kind word, a listening ear, or much needed advice. Her wisdom was invaluable to so many.
Pearl is preceded in death by her father X.L. Gant and mother Nora Williams, and siblings
Jerlean Hunt, Willie D. Bell, and Hester McGowan. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Robert Weaver of Mesquite, TX, daughter Becky Hyde (Howard) of Mesquite, TX, daughter Brenda Washington of Minden, LA, son Darrick Weaver (Cruz) of Frisco, TX, and nephew James Lavine of Houston, and niece Drena Steave (Steve) of Pflugerville, TX, whom she helped raise.
