Gilberto T. Carreiro, 76, of Farm St., Danbury died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 in Southington, CT. He was the husband of the late Teresa M. Carreiro.

He was born in St. Michael, Acores, Portugal, a son of the late Manuel Carrreiro and Mariana Raposo Carreiro.

Gilberto was retired from Fairfield Processing, where he worked for over 25 years.

He is survived by his son: John Carreiro and his wife, Irene. His daughters: Maria Hynd and her husband, Douglas; and Theresa Barrett and her husband, Chris. His beloved grandchildren: Christopher, Zachary, Dougie, Alexis, Johnny and Michael Anthony. His sister, Tina Vieira of Danbury and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by his brother, Aires Carreiro, formerly of Acores, Portugal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, Feb 18, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Deer Hill Ave., Danbury.

Burial will following St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received from 5pm-8pm on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
