Helen B. Grehn
November 4, 1923 – September 21, 2014
Helen Baliotis Grehn was always in vogue with her choice of clothes, happy when drinking a glass of wine and delighted by the sight and sound of her active grandchildren, died at home late Saturday night with her family by her side. A native of New Jersey, Helen lived in New York, Illinois and Maryland before settling in her home on Judith Drive in Danbury for 30 years.
After graduating from the Washington School for Secretaries, she began working for her future husband, Edward W. Grehn, the love of her life, as a secretary and laboratory assistant. Helen then stayed at home to raise her children, Elaine and Gregory. With grown children, she rejoined the workforce as a manager for Caldor in Ridgefield, CT, where she spent many years until her retirement.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Elaine and son, Gregory. She leaves two daughters-in-law, Lydia Cunningham-Grehn and Cathy Taggart; five grandchildren, Elijah and Isaiah Grehn, Michael and Caitlyn Delaney; and Alexandra Pereira. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24th at 1:00 pm. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
