OBITUARY

James V. Mangine

James V. Mangine, 92, of Danbury, CT passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Danbury Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Marguerite Mangine.

Jimmy was born in Tuckahoe, NY, a son of the late Frank and Maria Giordano Mangine. He attended Assumption Catholic School in Tuckahoe and then enlisted in the US Army. Jimmy was a career Army officer and retired after 22 years of service attaining the rank of Sergeant. He served in the European and Asiatic Theaters of War.

Jimmy and his late wife, Marguerite, traveled extensively throughout the world including Europe and the Pacific Northwest. He moved to Danbury over fifty years ago and was a member of the VFM Post # 149.

Survivors include his nieces: Susan A. Spadaro and her husband, Vinny, and Maria A. Mower, all of Eastchester, NY. His nephew: Charles Mower of Tacoma, WA. His great nephews and niece: Vincent C. Spadaro, Michael Spadaro and his fiancé, Cara Travaglini, and Suzanne Longo.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at 7pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Entombment will be on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 at 11am at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5pm – 7pm at the funeral home.
