Cristina (Pinto) Azinheira, age 56, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Season’s Hospice in Milton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Ilidio “Lee” Azinheira with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, she was the daughter of the late Silverio Pinto and her mother Maria Alice (Faria) Pinto.

Mrs. Azinheira received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts – Boston and her Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College. She worked as a middle school teacher for students studying English as a second language.

Cristina enjoyed flower gardening, making and decorating cakes, music, traveling, and dining out. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her teaching was dear to her heart.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter Sabrina Azinheira of Raynham, son David Azinheira, his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Natalie of Westfield, her mother Maria Alice Pinto of Florida, two sisters; Helena Miranda and her husband Zé of Marshfield, Maria McGowan and her husband Mark of New York, a brother George Pinto of Florida, one niece, five nephews, and her dog and furry companion Auggie.

Her visitation will be held Monday, January 21st at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth from 4-8pm. On Tuesday, January 22nd there will be a short visitation starting at 9:00AM at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass to be held at 10am at St. Mary's Church.
