David S. Raposo

David S. Raposo, 71, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was the husband of Odete T. (Couto) Raposo with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Achadinha, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Antonio and Antonia (Silva) Raposo. He moved to Canada at the age of 23 then came to the United States in 1973, settling in Dartmouth.

Mr. Raposo had worked as an X-ray Technician for Titleist until retiring in 2015. An avid Benfica fan, David was a soccer player for many years and participated in a 40 years and older soccer league. He was on a bowling league at Wonder Bowl and enjoyed playing golf. He loved spending time with friends playing cards and dominos. David loved dancing and listening to the Beatles, Eagles and Queen. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandson.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Nancy Lee Conde and her husband Jerry of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Ashlyn Marie, Kyle Austin and Kaitlyn Nicole Conde; one great-grandson, Ayden James Cabral; his siblings, Joao Raposo of Montreal, Antonio Melo of New Bedford, Conceicao Torres of Montreal, Maria dos Anjos, Sara Medeiros and Joaquim Raposo all of Victoria B.C. and Julia Raposo of Montreal; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Gloria Torres, Jose Raposo and Leonilde Pimentel.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 9 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 789 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Masks are required for entry to the funeral home and church.

So very sorry for your loss. I am glad my wife and I got to visit him the last time we were in Massachusetts in August to talk about old times and laugh. He was a good man. I will miss him!

David was a fun loving person loved to sing his Beatles songs and talk in French he also enjoyed spending times with his friends that he loved and they loved him very much .David will be missed by many who loved him like there own family ,may he in peace amen.Love you David.
