Patricia R. Cunha

November 9, 1934October 1, 2020

Our beloved mother, Patricia R. Cunha, 85, of Dartmouth, entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, October 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, after a short period of declining health. She was the widow of the late Daniel M. Cunha.

Mom was born November 9, 1934, in Fall River, MA, to Laura Archambault. In 1953 she met and married her husband Daniel, and they moved “to the country” in Dartmouth, where she lived the rest of her life. She was employed as a Dartmouth School Cafeteria Worker where she first worked at Dartmouth High and later at Potter School. A job she truly loved, where she met many co-workers who would become lifetime friends.

Mom was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother – the former being her most treasured role. In retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Dad and friends; summers back home working in the yard and cutting grass; but mostly she enjoyed her many family get-togethers and Christmas Eve with all her grandkids and great grandkids by her side. As a child, her family consisted of her Mom Laura, and twelve brothers and sisters living in a small home in Fall River. Mom was predeceased by our Dad Daniel, and is survived by her three children; David Cunha and his wife Terry, Karen Moura and her husband Bob, and Daniel Cunha and his wife Cheryl, all of Dartmouth. But life for Mom mostly revolved around her 7 grandchildren; Danny, Kristin, Bobby, Rachel, Matthew, Cassidy and Erin; and 4 great grandchildren; Julie, Abbi, Eve and Jackson all of whom will miss her forever.

We ask that in Mom’s memory, you show a kind gesture to someone in need or someone you just met.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport. Burial is private. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Please be mindful, limited seating in church. For online tribute/directions

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful, kind, caring and thoughtful person. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say to everyone. She was so special to me that I asked her to be my Confirmation godmother.
When I think of her, it will always bring a smile to my face.
She will be missed......

Aunt Pat was my godmother and I couldn't have ask for better. She was such a gentle loving person. When I was younger Aunt Pat would feed my brother and I breakfast every morning and get us off to school when my mom was working. I always felt loved by her and enjoyed being at her house. RIP Auntie Pat.
