Ricardo Chicote

Ricardo Chicote, 65, of Dartmouth passed away in St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Annabelle (Alilin) Chicote.

Born in the Philippines, a son of the late Eladio Chicote and Rosario (Ybañez) Ortiz he lived most of his life there before coming to America. This September would have been his 15th year in the United States. Mr. Chicote attended St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth and worked in maintenance at Brandon Woods. Ricardo was very active in the community and he loved music. He was part of the New Bedford Music Ministry, the Filipino-American Community of Southeastern Massachusetts, and Couples for Christ. He was devoted to being a good Christian and often attended household Bible Studies. Ricardo was famous for singing and playing guitar. He was a gifted choir accompanist. Ricardo will be remembered for his dancing, jolly, outgoing behavior, and loving the Beatles.

One of Ricardo and Annabelle’s last adventures was visiting the Philippines last spring for what was to be his last trip.

In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rachiel Kocur and her husband Randy of Dartmouth; a son, Mark Chicote of Dartmouth; a grandson, Kai Alexander Kocur; two sisters, Jimma Vertudazo and Veronica Chicote both of the Philippines; and step brothers, Renato Ortiz and Arnel Ortiz both of the Philippines; and several nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth with a service at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. For online directions/tribute www.waring-sullivan.com.
