James Leslie Dowler Sr.
May 8, 1938 – January 5, 2020
James Leslie Dowler Sr., was born on May 8th, 1938 in Florence,Co. to Clyde Dowler and Beulah Talley.
He recently lost his battle to heart disease. He re-joined his late wife on January 5th, 2020 at 11:45pm. He is now reunited with his family above.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Runge Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday January, 14th 2020 at 12PM. Following his service he will be laid to rest with full military honor at The Rock Island National Cemetery.
James proudly served in the United States Air Force and battled during the Korean War. James always took pride in his country and serving it to the best of his abilities. Family was the most important thing to him. He always enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved. James took pride in being a jack of all trades; there weren't many things he couldn't do. In his free time James loved spending time at the lake fishing. He is now fishing the great lakes of heaven. James will be missed by all who knew him especially his children.
Those left to share in his memory are his children, Jeff (Tammy) Dowler of Davenport, James (Marie) Dowler of Kansas City and Joy (Eric) Wildermuth of Kansas City; his sister, Suzy McCoy; brother, Glen Dowler; his grandchildren: Jeff, Joe, James, Eric, Chris, Tony, Josh, Justin, Alex, Travis, Anna, Mary, Amanda, Steven and Beverly; great grand-children: Delilah, Hannah, Hayden, Hailey, Kyleigh and Shalynn; and many cousins.
Those who preceded him in death are his parents, and love of his life, Joan Dowler.
