We were the foundation (Joel on drums and me on bass) for our first band, Whitewater. I always enjoyed playing music with Joel. The both of us knew the importance of drums and bass in the world of music and clicked from day one on what our job was. Over the years I have jammed with other people and some pretty good drummers but NONE were as talented and versatile as Joel. I have no doubt our old friends, Dick Symmonds and Allen Morris met Joel and had a drum set ready for him that would make Neal Peart jealous. Until we meet again, old friend !

Joel always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. I loved going and watching him play in Hartwood back in the day. I know that he will be dearly missed by all his band mates. Not to long ago some of the band members along with Joel got together and played again, even though it was just in the basement of my brothers (Randy Wood) house, I am sure they all had a blast, and what great memories that I am sure came flooding back to them all. It is comforting to know that he is no longer in pain and that he is whole again. My condolences goes out to all his family.

Great guy, Great drummer. I often think of those days being in Hartwood with him. I am so sorry for your loss.
