To Pauline's Family,
I am so sorry that your mom and grandma has passed away but at the same time I rejoice with you that she is in heaven and present with Jesus. We can not begin to imagine the joy and peace she is experiencing! I have so many good memories of all those years of visiting at school functions and ball games as she faithfully followed her kids and grand-kids through their school and sports careers. What a dedicated fan she was to her family! (plus kids in general...whether related or not) The impact she has had regionally, especially regarding the history of the Spokane Tribe as well as the tremendous impact she had in preserving the Salish language, will be among her lasting legacy's. The positive influence on her family, and on the Wellpinit and West End communities as well as Columbia School, will continue to be felt for years to come. A humorous memory (at her expense) that would often result in a good laugh when I brought it up was at a time when we both were working at Columbia School. I went into the classroom where she worked as a teacher's aide. She was in the room working alone and I came in to ask her for something another teacher needed. She grabbed the middle desk drawer to assist in getting up and the chair (with wheels) went flying out from under her! She plopped straight down on her bottom on the floor and looked up at me with a shocked expression on her face. Then she broke out in a huge round of laughter and had the hardest time stopping. Of course I joined her in laughing. Over the years when I was a little ornery, I would remind her of the day her chair bucked her out!! I loved to tease her...she was a great sport...though I am not sure she would appreciate me sharing this story!! What a life she lived!! God blessed her in so many ways! And she was a blessing to so many! My love, care, and prayers go out to all of you!
