God. His journey began, June 23, 2020 surrounded by his family at his beloved home. Born in
Dayton, Ohio, November 14, 1943, he was preceded in death by his parents Russell and
Dorothy (Perry) Heid, sister Donna (Heid) Large and nephew Charles Large.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (Rizzo) Heid; along with two children;
Lisa (Heid) Welton and Andrea Poole of Centerville, Ohio and Carl Christopher and Lisa (Bey)
Heid of Minster, Ohio: six grandchildren, Ryan Welton, Lindsay Welton, Zoe Heid, Ansley Heid,
Carl Isaac Heid, Russell Heid and nephew Timothy Large.
Carl served six years in the National Guard. He worked as a salesman at NCR for twenty years
and retired from Copp systems after 20 years of service. Carl was a very caring man and was
known as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Carl volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Pantry.
Carl loved having conversations with people and he never knew a stranger. Carl had a passion
for old planes and would often visit the Air Force museum with his friends and grandchildren.
He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the planes at the Air Force Museum with his
grandchildren.
