Frederick A. Eby, age 77 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Allie Eby, and two sisters: infant Donna Eby and Judy Dixon. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Launa Eby. Two daughters also survive him: Robin (Bud) Robbins, and Cindy (Bob) Smith. Two stepdaughters, Gina Gregory and Sandra (Doug) Sheppard also survive him, as do four grandchildren: Drew McCoy, Dusty McCoy, Dana (Jason) Hora, and Levi Robbins, as well as four step-grandchildren: Amanda (Damien) Clemmons, Brian Sheppard, Amanda (Adam) Dwiggins and Hannah Gregory, as well as eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Buster (Janet) Eby and two sisters: Janet Ferguson and June (Al) Souleyrette, and numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends, and his beloved fur baby, Daisy, as well as Chloe and Fonzie, who preceded him in death. A skilled screw machine operator, Fred retired from GM in 2003 with 28 years of service; he then started his small lawn mower repair business serving family and friends which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was an avid gardener and was famous for his “Fred’s Big Red Tomatoes”. Most significantly, he was a funny, lively man who lit up any room he walked into; he made a party a party. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2-5 PM, and again at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2139 Enterprise Rd, West Alexandria, OH from 11 AM until 1 PM on Monday, June 18, 2018. A funeral service will be conducted at the church at 1 PM on Monday. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
