SPILKER, Myrtle Thomas, had a wonderful life. She was born 95 years ago in Pine Top, Kentucky, into a large farm family. Myrtle had vivid memories of a happy childhood and loved sharing her stories with her four daughters and in recent years, her eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Myrtle shared her life and raised 4 daughters with her late husband, Robert. Many of Mom's brothers and sisters, also, called Dayton home, and she was close to them and their families. Myrtle was the last living of 15 brothers and sisters. Her late sister and brother, Nora Bates and Vernon Thomas were especially close. Myrtle had many interests during her long life. She loved her family and her home, fashion, interior decorating, politics (not so much recently), watching reality TV and of course her flowers! She chose her geraniums very carefully each spring and was widely recognized as having the best on the block! Myrtle passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 22nd, 2018 She is survived by her four daughters: Linda Voll (Gerry), Patricia Wakeham (Ed), Sue Anne Leingang (Larry), and Peggy Tefft (David); her eight grandchildren: Lindsey Thaler, Sarah Voll, Stacey Kouse, Annakate Ross, Rob Tefft, Chelsea Wakeham, Kelli Pitrone and Nick Tefft; 11 great grandchildren: Mason, Evan, Sam, Leo, Clementine, Josephine, June, Lilah, Brynn, Hunter, and Bailey, two sisters-in-law: Rosie and Eileen Spilker, as well as many nieces and nephews.
