James Edward Burks, born on May 13, 1979, passed away on November 3, 2023, following complications from diabetes. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death, including his father, Frank Burks, his brother, Christopher Burks, his stepson, Jacobie Espinosa, his grandparents, Jimmy Miller and Anna Lee Miller, Edward Faias, and Martha Louise Faias, and his uncle, Eddie Dean Faias.

James is survived by his devoted mother, Mary Kathleen Burks, who provided unwavering love and support throughout his life. His brothers, Don Afonso and David Afonso created a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a father to his daughter, Jamie Burks, and his son Austin Burks and stepson Bradley Espinosa. The legacy of love and guidance he left behind will forever be cherished by his family.

James is also survived by his uncles, Robert Burks and John Burks, and his aunts, Barbara King, Carol Schuttee, Cheryl Bovee, Lynda Costa, Janet Hill, Karen Machen, and Lori McKeon. His extended family was a source of joy and companionship in his life, and they will carry his memory with love.

James had a deep passion for WWE wrestling and sports. He found joy in the spectacle of WWE wrestling and the excitement of sports events. His enthusiasm for these passions was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing his excitement with others.

He was a hard worker and a wonderful friend. James showed dedication in all he did and built lasting connections with those around him. His kindness made him a treasured presence in the lives of many.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of James Edward Burks will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115, followed by a burial from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM.

As we bid farewell to James, let us also celebrate the love and joy he brought into our lives. His memory will continue to live on in our hearts, reminding us to cherish our loved ones and find joy in the simple pleasures of life, just as he did.
