Ed was born in Krebs, Oklahoma on May 24, 1924 and was the youngest of fifteen children born to Joseph and Maggie DeFrange of Italy. He married Margaret Mary Douglass on March 7, 1946. Together they had six children and were married for 52 years before Margaret’s passing. Ed was a World War II veteran, an accomplished artist in various mediums, as well as a master carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He was also a lifelong member and former choir director of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Ed is survived by children: Timothy DeFrange and wife Nancy of Clarksville, TN. ; Toni Beaubien and husband Larry of Denison, TX; Rev. Jonathan DeFrange of Covington, LA.; Tom DeFrange and wife Faye of Asheville, N.C.; Jane Donahue of Denison, TX.; and Mary Cooper and husband Chris of Tucson, AZ.. Ed is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary and visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Bratcher Funeral Home at 6 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Restoration Fund for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or Grayson County Home Hospice.
