Kenneth Wayne Brown passed away at 56 years old, October 4, 2018 at his home in Rock Island Illinois. Born April 23, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Masco and Helen Brown. Masco moved his family to Denver in 1965.
When Kenneth was 6 years old his mother was remarried to Carl Baylor, and together they raised him. Kenneth joined church at an early age, attended George Washington high school, and would later attend Job Corp for a few years. After Graduating, Kenneth married Sheryl Shields and was a proud father of two sons Kenneth Brown Jr and Kevin Brown, and step daughter Loreena Shields. He would later meet his long-time partner of over 25 years Letha McGhee, and had another daughter Tierra McGhee.
Kenneth grew up loving sports and music. Although he grew up in Denver Colorado, his favorite football team was always Kansas City Chiefs. He played basketball and experimented with many different musical instruments including the guitar and drums during his teenage years, and fell in love with music. His musical talents would advance greatly as he played in many bands, and made amazing music with some of his talented relatives and friends. When he wasn’t practicing music, he enjoyed playing basketball on a competitive level, or going out on a boat to catch fish.
Kenneth was preceded in death by father Masco Brown and brother Michael Brown. He is survived by his parents Carl and Helen Baylor, Sons Kenneth Jr., Kevin (Allison) daughters Tiera and Loreena, sisters Terrie (Rickey) Smith, Geraldine (Mario) Purvis, Linda (Dave) Cole and Carlyne (James) Marshall. 1 aunt Jacqueline Kelly and 2 uncles Victor Walker and Gregory Bishop and a host of other family members and friends.
