“It will be the greatest honor of my life to spend everyday trying to live up to the legacy of you Grandpa!! “
Terry was born in Sterling CO to Howard and Elaine Wilderman. He had 3 brothers Lloyd,Harold and Jack. They grew up in Aurora in the house that his dad built. They helped raise and tend to several horses throughout his childhood. He loved horses with a passion. He graduated from Hinkley High school.
He was drafted to the Vietnam War right out of highschool. He served a few years before getting hurt and getting discharged. He became a drywall finisher in his later years. He ended up doing this for over 25 years before retiring. During his free time, Terry enjoyed growing tomatoes in his garden in the summer and working on his scroll saw wood art. He was passionate about eagles , horses and dogs.
He helped to raise his granddaughter Amber and then her kids Haylie and Carily. They were his joy. He loved to go camping to Buena Vista with his late wife Carol and Amber and his brother Harold and His wife Cheryl. They would vacation for 3 weeks every summer together. He would take Amber rock climbing and play checkers.
Haylie got to visit Buena vista more in the later years with Cheryl after she moved up there. During Haylie’s middle school years grandpa was the taxi to several of her friends. They would all come over and have his famous breakfast burritos in the morning before school.
Carily and grandpa loved to watch jumanji and the Big Bang theory on a regular basis. Carily was grandpas little helper. They would go shopping together to kings soopers and she would help carry in the groceries for him. We will never have a grandpa like him again. We love you so much grandpa!!! Thank you for all your kindness and support over the years!!
Terry is survived by his granddaughter Amber and her children Haylie and Carily and her dogs B boy, Luna and princess. He would always say he didn’t like them but deep down he did!! They loved to get petted by his boots on the daily.
Predeceased by his wife carol in 2015, all 3 of his brothers, his parents and his loyal dogs Foxy, brandy, Suzy and his only boy Rily!!
“Grandparents hold our hands for just a little while but our hearts forever.”
