My wife,  Lenee and I  first came to visit Horace July 4, 2017. I was given his phone number by James W. Taylor, both half-cousins to Oliver Spirgen Taylor, my grandfather. I was writing my 2nd  book, "Memories of our Fathers, and was seeking information about  O. S. Taylor, who lived in West Monroe.  Horace knew him well and I recorded all he spoke in this book and many other family members. Oliver and Dorothy, his wife operated a grocery store located on 1424 Joe Bill Street, W. Monroe. In this immediate area Oliver, Horace, Rev. Arthur Edgar Taylor,  and Rev. T. V. Taylor lived  close together in 1948. We met Horace's family and they didn't want us to leave that day. Since then I have called him at least 10 times  checking on him and praying with him, and his family. I  returned two or three times trying to copy his photogenic memory and walking Bible mentality.  We are very sad that Horace has left our presence exactly 9 months to the day, April 4, 2018, he went on his heavenly flight to see Jesus. To the family who probably know little about the overall family of Bushrod Washington Taylor, who we are all descendants, I am the Taylor Family Representative and this family book will be available soon in a floating book for you to read about our research  on our loved ones who have gone on before us. *One more thing before I leave, I thought Amanda, his granddaughter and Jordan Mothershed did a wonderful job handling the last farewells of Horace Garfield Taylor  and we will never forget your grandfather and his lovely family that are dear to our hearts.



Papaw, you will be truely missed by everyone especially your children and grandchildren.  You have always told us that no matter what life throws our way, trust the Lord and he will guide you through  what hardship may arise.  Just have Faith and the Lord Jesus Christ will guide your steps . I will see you again in heaven one day by the Rapture or by the grave.

This is an old picture of dad and I when I was a couple of days old. He was always there for me from day 1 until he took his last breath! I was so blessed to have him in my life! I'm weeping on the outside, but my heart is rejoicing! My dad is finally in the presence of Jesus where he has so longed to be, and after 2 years is reunited with his bride of 68 yrs, my beautiful grandma! My main goal is to maintain a relationship with Christ, and teach my babies the same so we can see him again! I love you dad! 

This is my Dad Easter Sunday enjoying the holiday with Seth,Hannah and Aidan his great grandkids. We will miss him with a passion but we know he is rejoicing in Heaven with God and his precious wife. I love you Dad and I will see you again in Heaven!

Knippers, Mable Oliece Dulaney; one brother, Earnest Taylor; grandchildren, Michael Taylor (Jenni), David Taylor (Corrie), Melissa Jenkins (Joshua), Jessica Watson (Thomas), Amanda Mothershed (Jordan), Shayla Brown (Greg), Andrew Knippers (Carolyn), Trey Milner; great grandchildren, Seth Olson, Hannah Grace Olson, Kennedy Ann Scott, Noah Taylor, Kooper Kane, Nathaniel Knippers, Lucas Ayres, Isabella Taylor, Aiden Wallace, Ashton Jenkins, Aiden Jenkins and Jared Brown.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Elizabeth Johnson Taylor; his parents, Arthur and Sue Ford Taylor; four sisters, one brother; along with a son-in-law, Robert L. Knippers.
