Preceded by his 2nd wife Ann whom he adored, Loving Father of Glen (Norma), and Steven, and Dad of Bill and Laura, and Grandsons Jacob and Daniel.
Jake, as he was called by everyone was born in Chicago and attended Agassiz Grammar school and Lane Tech HS. He enjoyed all sports but football was his early love. He was a DB at Lane and followed in the footsteps of his brothers playing for the amateur football team, the Wizard Arrows. Jake loved playing 16” softball, unique to the Chicago area. He went on to play with the top teams in Chicago in the best leagues in the city, playing for the Registers and the Stones at Clarendon Park, James Park in Evanston and Kelly Park on the south side. He played until he was nearly 60. He loved the Chicago Bears, for whom he has season tickets for years at Wrigley Field, and was a big Cub fan and yes a Sox fan too.
After working at Illinois Bell as a technician, he took the opportunity to go into Sales, starting at Meister Brau Brewery and moving on to Jim Beam where he essentially finished his career. His outgoing personality and penchant for risque jokes made him popular among nearly everyone he met.
Of course he loved his family including his 4 brothers and their families and especially his own children supporting them in whatever their interests were but especially in sports.
