This precious lady approached me when I first came back here 9 years ago and introduced herself as "I rocked you when you were a baby." I was overwhelmed, as I remember her only as her childhood photos with my mother. Jean later told me that when Mum came to Digby to work, she boarded with Jean's parents and slept with Jean. Every night they played games. Every possible lovely weekend they were out on the beach or in boats. My mother's old pictures came to life for me! Now, I have recent memories of my own, of games I played at Jean's, meals shared, tea and cookies and laughter. In a way, she is my Digby Alpha and Omega! God bless Jean and her wonderful family.

As a young new VON nurse in Digby (many miles from home), Jean became my adopted mother! I have fond memories of the time I boarded with her...I will surely miss her wonderful smile and love.
