Michelle Lynn Gaffer- Age 70 of Digby, NS passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Oct 16, 2020. She was a daughter of the late Garfield L. and Judy (Gidney) Trask.

After graduating high school, Lynn moved to Toronto where she worked for 10 years before moving to Saudi Arabia to begin her career in the medical field. While there, she met her husband Khalad and eventually moved to Egypt to continue their careers, where Lynn found her second passion teaching English. With the passing of her husband, Lynn decided it was time to return home to her family in Digby, NS where she finished her career as a Residential Instructor with the Conway Workshop Association. She enjoyed history, travelling, family, music, singing, fishing, kayaking and the beach. She will be remembered for her ability to light up a room with her smile, quick wit and laughter.

Lynn is survived by sister, Judy Lynn (Trask) Pleasant; Aunt Janet and Uncle Ozzie; nieces and nephews Adam, Abigail, Kristie, Shannon and several cousins. Besides Lynn’s parents she was predeceased by husband, Khalad Gaffer and brother, Garfield Eugene Trask.

Donations in memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division, 5826 South St. Halifax, Nova Scotia B3H 9Z9. The family would like to thank the Oncology department at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, nurses and staff at Digby General Hospital and many friends and family for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Share a memory or leave a condolence at www.jaynesfuneralhome.com

Lynn (also known as the dancing queen) was one of a kind, she was a dear friend, great neighbor and co-worker. We had many laughs and adventures kayaking. She loved to joke around about cloning my husband Darren, I had to keep a close eye on her when he was in the yard lol Lynn had a great sense of humor. She will be forever missed.
