Mercedes and I were blessed with three beautiful boys. After I retired from the Air Force we were drawn to Georgia by our dear friend Dana and her family. I believe we were also guided there by The Almighty, our Lord Jesus. Mercedes always had a heart for adopting or caring for less fortunate or children from a third world country. We went thru months of training and became foster parents.

We were immediately blessed with numerous foster children, some of which we still have a relationship with. Allison Johnson was one of our dear foster daughters and she still calls us mom and dad. At one point we had our three boys, a set of twins, Allison, and three siblings living in horrendous conditions that needed a safe and loving home. Praise the Lord we were blessed with a home large enough to safely care for these beautiful children.

We were called soon after needing a stay at home mom that could care for a beautiful 9 day old baby boy. Mercedes looked at me with tears in her eyes and said please, please can we take him. Drew was covered with blisters and sores from head to toe from neglect. For anyone else this child alone Would have been all they could handle. By the Grace of God and the huge heart of a loving mother, the acceptance of three boys (Ian, Christian and Parker) Drew became my fourth son.

Drew always had his quirks and issues. But he also had the biggest heart and love for everyone he met. It didn’t matter if it were a man, woman, kid or animal Drew would love on you and talk to you as if he knew you forever. His stories, at times were unbelievable or exaggerated. But he kept your attention and at the end you either believed him or just loved that he could fabricate such a lovely story.

I will always love you Andrew Conley Nault. You have impacted the lives of so many people. You will live in our hearts forever. A day will not go by that we won’t think of you. Papa.

I am very thankful to have met Andrew , the years I knew Andrew he was always there for me and my family he shared in our graduation parties he was there for me in my sickness even in the passing of a loved one He was there , as a true friend and part of my family . Andrew always took up the extra slack for us. As I watched him succeed in life with a job and saving his money. I was very proud of knowing Andrew. We were always looking for that one special truck the Ford F-150. And just so it happened one night we found that special truck. He was so excited took out all the money he had saved and brought that truck home. Immediately after we got home he grabbed his pillow and blanket I knew what he was doing. The happiest I've have ever seen him. Andrew will always be missed but never forgotten.
