Donald Edward Tokarse

Donald Edward Tokarse, age 64, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023. He was born August 23, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. Donald was a 1978 graduate of Northridge High School in Dayton, Ohio. During his childhood, his family made several moves around the country and eventually settled in Atlanta, which Donald always considered his home. Donald enjoyed his younger years during the '70s era, especially the '70s Rock. He was an avid fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd. A hard-working man, Donald was a good provider, and loved his family and friends. With a funny, entertaining personality, Donald never met a stranger—striking up conversations with anyone who had the time to listen.

Preceding him in death were his father, Alfred H. Tokarse; stepfather, William Dillon; grandson, Jonathan “Blake” Strong; sister-in-law, Katrina Owenby; and brother-in-law, Tommy Short.

Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 24 years, Dee Tokarse; his mother, Rosemary Dillon; former stepfather, Jim Owenby; son, Donald “Donnie” E. Tokarse, Jr.; daughter, Stacy Tokarse Blanton (Chad); brothers, William Tokarse (Karen), Alan Tokarse (Lisa), Brian Tokarse (Sonya), James “Jimbo” Owenby and David Owenby (Gina); sisters, Jennifer Lacey (Bill) and Sharon Owenby Short; two grandchildren, Breann Hill (Dylan) and Emery Davis; three great-grandchildren, Taylyn Hill, Rylann Grant and Kashton Grant; a special nephew, Dusten Mowen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of friends. He was loved and adored by all who knew him and will be missed by all who loved him.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating.
