Bryan David Beauduy of Hermantown, MN died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Essentia Health Duluth from complications of leukemia. Born to Henry "Hank" L. and Lillian Beauduy in January 1949, he was a 1967 graduate of Eveleth High School. Bryan served in the US Army in Vietnam as a medevac medic and he returned to marry his sweetheart Jean Salmela in 1971.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of MN. Bryan worked as a physical therapist in area nursing homes and most recently for St. Luke's Home Care. He found great satisfaction in helping his patients, especially the seniors, achieve their maximum functional capability. Bryan enjoyed a good day of golf and the company of his family and friends. He always made time to help Jean in her gardens, but most of all he loved spending time with his beloved grandsons.
Bryan was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 42 years, Jean; his children, Nena (Scott) Johnson of Hermantown, MN, Derek (Camille) Beauduy of San Francisco, CA and Shawn (Chena) Beauduy of Clawson, MI; his grandsons, Griffin and Reese Johnson and Luca Beauduy; his sisters Leslie Kydd of Eveleth, MN and Janice Beauduy of New Ulm, MN; his brothers, Henry (Mary) Suagee-Beauduy of Phoenix, AZ, Lee (Laura) Beauduy of Blaine, MN, and Craig Beauduy of Spring Lake Park. He is further survived by numerous other family and friends and many, many brothers and sisters in Faith as a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Bryan is preceded in death by his parents; beloved aunt, Linda Carlson; uncle, Vernon “Hunchie” Carlson; and his nephew, Jason Beauduy.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to Miller Dwan Foundation, designated to Gonska Pediatric Fund in honor of Bryan’s grandson, Reese Johnson.
Bryan was a kind and generous man whose memory will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, 6273 US Hwy 2, Munger. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11:00 funeral on Friday, June 28. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
