Russ and I were friends for 83 years. We met when we were 10 and my family moved to Rockwell. I don’t remember ever any cross words between us. The Allens always treated me like one of the family, the same with Gordon Fleming. Love to Gen, the family. Bill. (via Alanna)

Was so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Russ very long but have heard so many nice stories about him from his family. I remember how nice he and his wife were letting my son and their grand-daughter get married in their home. Both were so kind, and were easy to talk to. Great Host, a great family. It was easy to love them. May the Lord hold you and comfort you during this hard time.
Love and prayers,
Clyda (Hakala) Morris

Russ was always a fun guy to be around. From the earliest days of my forestry career with Blandin paper company, Russ was a constant fixture at meetings and professional gatherings. He was always so supportive of us younger foresters— just a great guy! Another passing of the greatest generation!
