Gerry, we were very sorry and saddened to hear your news about Edna. She was a dear friend over a very long time, since our first meeting at RAF Binbrook in the early 1950's. Although living a great distance apart over the years, we have always kept in contact and enjoyed numerous, memorable visits and holidays together, especially the motorhome tours to far away places. She was a special friend who will be greatly missed.
Included, is a memory of our first skiing holiday together in Alpbach, Austria in the winter of 1963.

Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Gerald and the entire Coaker family. Edna was our cherished friend since 1953. Our lives, with our growing families, intertwined with Edna and Gerald's over many decades and world-wide locations. We enjoyed good times and family events starting at RCAF Winnipeg;then RAF Binbrook UK; Winnipeg again ( after brief hiatus in Wawa); Mississauga(high jinks in swimming-pool), Toronto and Lindsay (fishing vacation); Syracuse NY; Italy (famous fish luncheon in Venice); St Lucia (astonishing hot-flush plumbing); Coaker's "Great Garden of Dundas"; and recently Florida. Edna was "Auntie Eggnog " to our our young grandson, but she preferred Scotch and Gerald's fine wine. Edna was gracious, good-natured and talented at nursing, homemaking, dancing, knitting, reading tirelessly, and good conversation. We are grateful for her friendship, and that we could share the Coaker 64th Wedding Anniversary last summer, in Dundas and including a sentimental return to Niagara Falls. With Love , Bob and Lorraine, Palm Bay, Florida

Us Crook children loved to spend time with the Coakers at vacation time. Auntie Edna was always a great hostess to us and we loved seeing her and Uncle Gerry when we got together. To the Coaker clan we send a heartfelt condolence to all of you. Edna was a special lady and will be missed greatly.
Love to all,
Kevin and Linda Crook

My deepest condolences, Gerald and family. Edna was a very sweet person and I enjoyed dancing with her. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet the two of you. Dancing was special in your lives as it was in mine, with my wife of 60 years, Mary.
