It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marion. On Friday, October 26, 2012, in Hamilton, Ontario, Marion passed peacefully in her sleep with dignity. Devoted wife of the late Harry Buckle, and beloved mother of Sherry (Mark) of Calgary; Walter (Mandy) of Toronto; Douglas of Indian Harbour, N.S.; Christine (Dennis) of Enniskillen; James (Diane) of Indian Harbour, N.S. Proud grandmother and devoted fan to her awesome grandchildren Meghan, Matthew and Emma, Calgary; Andrew and Gillian, Toronto, Maxwell, Peterborough; Samantha, Rebecca, Spencer and Adrian, Enniskillen; Tia and Mai, Indian Harbour, N.S., Madeleine (Kirt) of Iqaluit, Nunavut; and Matthew (Lil) of Toronto. She was predeceased by four siblings, Lamont, Bernice, Wilbur and Kyle. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Marion, born in Saskatoon, Sask., December 31, 1923, grew up on a farm outside of town. She graduated with a Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, where she met Harry, and shortly thereafter they started their life together. You could never say they really settled down, as Marion followed Harry to a number of locations, which included Ontario, California and Nova Scotia, for his job. While raising a family Mom regularly held jobs providing bookkeeping and accounting for companies. She enjoyed music, cards, a good sporting event, watching her children and then grandchildren in whatever endeavors they pursued, and passed her love of knitting on to more than one grandchild. She was loved and cherished by friends she touched with kindness along the way, and was grateful for the return of that kindness in her later years. A celebration of Marion’s life will take place at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Ave. West, Hamilton Ontario on Monday, November 12th at 11 am. Interment at a later date in Victoria, B.C.. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
