Judy Jones of Dunn departed this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at her home, being 75 years of age. She was born April 14, 1942 in Wade, North Carolina to the late Mary Louise McDaniel Eldridge and the late George William Eldridge. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers: William Dudley Eldridge and Larry Dean Eldridge and her sister” Gloria Ann Lequieu.

Anyone who knew Judy knows she was a feisty woman, just ask her family. It was just a few days before her passing, she was picking at one of the grandbabies, swinging her leg at them! She was a loving woman. September 29, 1963 she met Mr. Jessie Jones and it was love at first site. He can still remember the first time he laid eyes on this stunning young lady and she still turns his head, 54 years later. She loved her family. Nothing excited her more than being able to get together with all the family at Christmas. Although she loved the lights, the trees, and all the trappings of Christmas, it was spending time with her family, watching them open gifts and sitting around a big holiday feast that truly made Christmas for Judy. Let’s not forget, Judy had a sassy side too! I’m sure the family will never forget the time she put little Larry in the little red wagon and rolled him right down the railroad tracks to leave him there! She was a strong lady as well! Except the time she went fishing and caught a flounder and went to reel it in and mistook it for a Sting Ray and threw the rod down and took off running! Most of all, Judy was a hero to everyone who knew her!

Judy leaves behind to cherish her wonderful memory, her loving and devoted husband Jessie Jones; four daughters: Lisa Burnette and husband R.C. Tyndall of Dunn, Susan Renee Watson and husband Zavier of Durham, Jessica McLamb and husband Michael of Newton Grove, Mary Walker and husband Raymond of Erwin; son: Dustin Jones and fiancé Heather Stevens of Erwin; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
