Martha Slankard Matthews Wilson, age 83 of Benson departed this life on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Transitions LifeCare Hospice in Raleigh. She was born in Lake Port, California on June 1, 1935 to the late William Henry Slankard and the late Lucinda Wagner Slankard. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Junior Elwood Matthews; her son, David Preston Matthews and several brothers and sisters.
Martha leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband Dale Wilson; Daughter: Lori Rice of Erwin and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Erwin.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Martha Matthews Wilson will be conducted on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the nave of St. Stephens Episcopal Church with Rev. Ann Burts presiding. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Union Church Cemetery in Lillington.
