I first met Jim some years ago when I joined the post as a member of the Sons. I worked on the "line" with Jim serving sausages during the pancake breakfasts. During the occasional downtimes, I had the chance to get to know Jim better. I quickly learned to appreciate his quick wit, upbeat outlook, and just being a fun guy to work with. He had a great smile and a firm handshake.... One of the classiest gentlemen I have had the pleasure to meet. Sundays at the post won't be the same

I still remember the evening I first met Jim at the Jurek Post 9 years ago when I joined the American Legion. He impressed me as a genuinely nice guy back then and never had cause to change my opinion since then. A true gentleman. I marched with him in the Jurek Post Color Guard, performed Military Honors with him as a member of the Honor Guard and it will be my privilege to fire three rounds at his service on Wednesday.
