Mrs. Naomi Schake, age 105, passed away at 6:40am on September 9, 2020, in the home of her daughter and her daughter’s husband, Karen (James) Moore, in Austin, Texas. She was born on October 22, 1914, in Athens, Ohio. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Plummer Schake, and her son, Richard F. Schake, Sr. She is also survived by her son and his wife, Wayne (Cecelia) Schake. Naomi was a loving Grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She stayed busy her entire life – taking care of family and friends, cooking the best meals we ever ate, canning a storeroom full of delicious items for all to enjoy, knitting more than 100 afghans for all special people and occasions and maintaining a wonderful “Camp” in the Allegheny area, where all were welcome to enjoy themselves and feel her love. We were all so fortunate to have her and her giving spirit in our lives.

I happened on this today and thought I'd add a memory. I remember growing up, my dad, John Schake and mom, Mary, would travel to our camp in PA. Then, we'd often make a trip to Buffalo to visit Naomi and Plum. Such great and kind people. And Plum was always the jokester!

Bless you all.

So many wonderful memories of your grandparents and that wonderful cottage. What a wonderful time to be alive. Learning how to water ski, try to hunt a ground hog and just being children who loved to be outdoors. Thanks to the whole family to allow me to be a part of your family and traditions that I have tried to share with my own family.

Jeff my deepest condolences
