John (Jack) Stephen Krasnavage, 80, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Isabel (Lopez) for 59 years, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plymouth, PA and moved to Connecticut in 1961 after serving five years in the U.S. Marine Corp. always believing “Once a Marine, Always a Marine, Semper Fi”. He was a son of the late Michael George Krasnavage and Mary (Warcholak) Krasnavage. John was employed by Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford and retired after 35 years.

He was a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5779 South Windsor 3rd degree, and fourth degree with the Bishop McMahon Assembly 105. He served as a District Deputy, Faithful Navigator, Grand Knight and Commander of the Honor Guard. John was an avid Giants Football, and New York Yankees fan. He was a good friend to so many; John will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever.

Aside from the love of his life, Isabel, he will forever be missed by his daughters, Gail Anne Arroyo and husband Edwin of East Hartford and Linda Marie Dickson and Victor Ortiz of Stafford Springs. John was known as “Boomba” to his beloved grandchildren: Isabel Arroyo-Stulpin and husband Christopher of East Hartford, Matthew Dickson and wife April, Michael Dickson and Jess Teslof and Kaitlyn Dooley and husband Kelson, all of Stafford Springs; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Soucier, Matthew John and Kallie Dickson, Isabella and Wyatt Arroyo-Stulpin, Noah and Autumn Dickson; his sister, Mary Ann Medura of Plymouth, PA, and longtime friend Jim Phalstaf. He was predeceased by his identical twin brother Michael Krasnavage, and his sisters, Evelyn Woolard and Elizabeth Klemchak.

John wished to go home to Plymouth, PA upon his passing. The funeral will be held on Wednesday (October 30) at 9:30 a.m. from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in S.S. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth. Interment will follow at St. Marys Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Dallas, PA. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Parastas will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home with Fr. Walter Pasicznyk officiating.
